Valentine’s day is a time to celebrate the love you have for your significant other.
You push the boat out, buy cards, flowers, chocolates, expensive gifts, perhaps a city break, slap-up meal in the most expensive restaurant you can find. Absolutely anything to show how you care and value your partner.
All of that is fabulous, wonderful, and so romantic. However, no relationship was ever built or maintained on one day’s efforts. We all know that.
I have to work on my relationship with Nicola all year round,
- showing up
- giving her my quality time
- showing how much I care
- listening to her concerns
- understanding what makes her tick
- little acts of affection
- holding hands
- empowering her to be the person she wants to be
- together moving nearer to her dreams and goals
Wow, that sounds like a full-time job! The truth is it is, and it is if you want to have a great relationship.
Start cutting corners, and the results don’t lie. Things break down, life is stressful, each day feels like walking through treacle, and at worse, your relationship ends…..you are insolvent!
All those rules apply to the other LOVE of your life, your business!
Suppose you start shortchanging, not showing your love for the business, not as you did in the beginning. Remember when you had a dream, had loads of energy, and didn’t want to be away from each other. A true match made in heaven.
Now you don’t put the quality time into the business, can’t wait until the weekend comes, or it is time for that holiday so that you can escape.
Perhaps you can’t escape? You feel trapped and can’t get out.
You are no longer in love!
Things might get so bad that you have no choice, you are bankrupt, and it is the end!
As with all our relationships, our results are directly equal to the quality of time and effort we put in.
Fall in love with your business again, each and every day. You will see how things flourish, and the bottom line reflects your love!
Happy Valentine’s 💕
